Advanced skin rejuvenation options at our West Des Moines, Iowa, practice include eTwo. This innovative treatment combines rejuvenation with contouring to reverse the signs of aging, improve the appearance of acne scars, and minimize stretch marks. The noninvasive, minimal downtime procedures deliver controlled heating to the skin's deeper layers, triggering the production of collagen that results in improved skin tone and texture.
The eTwo treatments include Sublative™ skin resurfacing and Sublime skin tightening. They are each effective when performed separately, but we offer the combined treatments to produce enhanced results. eTwo is an ideal treatment for:
- Acne scars
- Stretch marks
- Uneven skin tone
Patients can expect smoother and brighter skin, smaller pores, faded scars, and softened wrinkles. In addition, lax skin will be tighter as well as firmer. Results typically become noticeable over a period of 3 to 6 months, but some patients have seen results immediately after treatment. Sublative skin resurfacing is the only technology proven to reduce moderate to severe acne scars for all skin types.

Our aesthetic providers begin the combined procedure by applying a topical anesthetic to the treatment area to minimize discomfort. Sublime skin tightening treatments combine light energy and radiofrequency energy, heating deeper layers of the skin without damaging the skin's surface. This medium–to–deep heating is what triggers the production of new collagen, improving the skin's texture and tone. The radiofrequency applicator used during the Sublative treatment delivers the energy into the skin in a grid–like fashion, similar to fractional lasers. This eliminates the downtime associated with ablative laser treatments, which vaporize the skin's outer layer.
Most patients undergo 3 to 5 treatments, scheduled at least a month apart. Each treatment session usually takes about 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the extent of the patient's skin concerns.
Results & Recovery
Patients typically see some redness and swelling after an eTwo procedure. These side effects may last for a little as a few hours to 2 or 3 days after the treatment. Makeup can also camouflage any minor crusting that may develop after the Sublative rejuvenation procedure. The results won't appear immediately, and most patients will need multiple treatments to get the optimal outcome. Expect the full results to appear after at least 3 months or longer.
