Get shaped, semi-permanent eyebrows that perfectly accent your eyes with microblading at our West Des Moines practice. This popular treatment is less invasive than cosmetic tattooing and creates thicker, natural-looking eyebrows.

About Microblading

The microblading technique involves manually inserting pigment into the skin’s upper layers to create the desired fullness and shape of the eyebrows. We use a tiny pen-shaped device tipped with multiple fine needles to deliver the pigment into the skin. Because the needles remain in the skin’s superficial layers, the results are semi-permanent (unlike tattoos that deposit pigment deeper into the skin).

Your Treatment

For patients getting their first microblading procedure, expect the treatment to last at least 2 hours. Our microblading artists discuss the shape of the brow that each patient wants and then sketch the new brow shape based on the desired outcome and the anatomy of the patient’s face. After numbing the treatment area, the microblading provider uses the tool to carefully draw each “hair” into the skin. The pigment can match the natural brow color or create a new color.

There is typically some discomfort following the treatment that can be easily managed with over-the-counter pain relief medication. Avoid scheduling your microblading treatment within a week or 2 of an important social or professional event. We also recommend postponing any physically strenuous activities for several days after the procedure. Excessive sweating may disrupt the results or cause infection.

Common Questions?

How many sessions will I need?

This varies from patient to patient. Most patients need about 2 sessions to get the results they desire. Much of the first session includes discussing cosmetic goals with the patients and preparing the treatment area. Subsequent sessions don’t take as much time. Plan on scheduling the second session about 4 weeks after the first treatment.

When will I see results?

Eyebrows will be their darkest during the first 3 days after the treatment session. During the next couple of days, the small scabs will begin falling off. By day 7 or so, you’ll begin seeing the results. Keep in mind that your brows will be much lighter when the final results appear compared to what you see during the first 3 days. The results of microblading treatments can typically last from 1 to 2 years.

What’s the cost of microblading in West Des Moines?

Microblading prices vary depending on the region in which the medical practice is located. Our pricing starts at $400 for the first treatment session and is subject to change. We discuss additional details about our pricing structure during the consultation process. We offer complimentary consultations.

Who’s a good microblading candidate?

Most people who want thicker eyebrows can benefit from microblading treatments. Patients who once had fuller eyebrows may notice them thinning for 2 main reasons: aging and overplucking. The natural aging process results in thinning hair, including the eyebrows. Plucking eyebrows was once fashionable, but most women now want thicker eyelashes that look natural for the shape of their faces.
